My Journey Into Bridal Hair and Makeup
Over 16 years in the industry, and I still get that same quiet excitement on a wedding morning.
My route into bridal hair and makeup began when I trained in beauty therapy in Buxton, I then moved into makeup in Manchester and later added hair through evening classes in Stockport. From there, I spent several years working on fashion shoots, music videos and e-commerce campaigns.
It was a brilliant experience and shaped so much of what I do now, but it never quite reflected my values. The work I always found myself drawn back to was weddings.
There is something about a wedding morning that feels completely different. The atmosphere, the emotion, the sense of calm among the excitement. It felt more meaningful, more personal, and much more like where I was meant to be. Over time, that became my focus, and it’s been my world ever since.
A Natural, Modern Approach
My style has always been centred around creating something natural, with a soft, modern edge.
My background in fashion gave me an eye for detail and a strong sense of what feels current, but I never want anything to feel overdone. Everything is designed to feel effortless and wearable, so when you look in the mirror, you still feel completely like yourself.
I’m always drawn to looks that feel fresh, glowing and understated. It’s about enhancing your natural beauty in a way that feels comfortable, modern and timeless, rather than following trends too closely.
Clean Beauty and Cruelty-Free Products
Using clean beauty products is a huge part of what I do and something I feel really passionate about.
I’m very mindful of the products I carry in my kit, choosing natural, organic and cruelty-free brands that perform beautifully and feel good on the skin. Every product has been carefully selected, and if something doesn’t meet that standard, it simply doesn’t stay.
This approach allows me to create that fresh, radiant finish I love while making sure everything feels lightweight and comfortable throughout your day. It’s just as much about how it feels as how it looks.
More Than Just How It Looks
For me, it has never just been about the finished look.
Of course I want your hair and makeup to look beautiful, but more than anything, I want you to feel like your wonderful natural self. That moment when everything comes together and you feel calm, confident and completely comfortable is what it’s all about.
Those are always the moments that stay with me. It’s such a special part of the day to be involved in.
Still Loving It After All These Years
Even after all this time, I still feel genuinely excited for every wedding morning. Every person is different, every day has its own energy, and that’s what keeps it feeling so special.
